Reviews
This book was originally purchased years ago at a nationally renown bookseller. Purchased it for just under ten dollars. Once home, the book was read quickly and I am not even a Marvel Comic (but rather a DC) fan, never have related to Marvel's array of characters, not even Spiderman. Yet this book is interesting. The author is without a doubt a Marvel Comic fan. That is very evident by his lavish praise of Stan Lee's work. Format and quality of the book's binding and multi-color pages indicate its intended purpose is to serve that of a coffee-table book. Size of this book is big, not thick, just enough pages are used by the author to tell the story about the Marvel universe and how it was created and about what variations the Marvel universe underwent over the decades. Thomas the author, does present Lee, et. al. as bonafide writers of legitimate literature, it being merely a comic genre. nonetheless still a legitimate product of both verbal and visual skills and creativity. Quite remarkable really.Recently, I found out one of my grandsons is a Marvel Comic fan. My volume was given to him. Later, I found out my granddaughter is a Marvel Comic fan, a comic book nerd her mom calls her, so a volume was purchased for her as a Christmas present. Can hardly wait until Christmas when I give her the book...to see her eyes go big and wide as the book is large and colorful.Much surprised to discover a few more, but not many more, of these particular books are available, one going for as much as a few hundred dollars.
